Prayer Watch - pray for skaters global

Prayer Watch: October 2026

Praying for the global skateboarding community

Skateboarding is happening everywhere.

Every month, skaters are traveling across countries, competing in contests, building new communities, opening skateparks, teaching kids, recovering from injuries, and pursuing opportunities they never imagined they would have.

At Skate Gospel, we want to do more than watch what is happening in the skate world. We want to pray for it.

That’s why we’re starting our Prayer Watch.

What is the Prayer Watch?

The Prayer Watch is our monthly opportunity to look at what is happening across the global skateboarding community and bring it before God.

Each month, we'll highlight contests, events, skateparks, youth programs, communities, skaters, and other things happening around the world that we can pray about together.

Some months we might be praying for a major international contest. Other months, it might be a new skatepark being built in a city where kids desperately need somewhere to go. We might pray for a skater recovering from an injury, a young person picking up a skateboard for the first time, or a community trying to create something positive for the next generation.

Big or small, we believe it is worth praying about.

And we're inviting skaters, friends, churches, youth leaders, families, and anyone who cares about the skateboarding community to join us.

October Prayer Watch

For October, we're starting with two major events happening on the international skateboarding calendar.

🛹 SLS Paris — October 3

Street League Skateboarding is heading to Paris on October 3 as part of the 2026 Championship Tour.

Behind every contest are skaters putting in countless hours, traveling, training, dealing with pressure, and putting themselves on the line.

So this month, we're praying for the skaters competing in Paris.

Let's pray for:

  • Protection from injuries

  • Strength and endurance for every skater

  • Safe travel for athletes, families, coaches, and crews

  • Peace for skaters dealing with competition pressure

  • Healthy relationships between competitors

  • Skaters who may be dealing with injuries or setbacks

  • The families and friends supporting these athletes

  • The next generation watching and being inspired by the contest

  • Opportunities for meaningful friendships and conversations within the skate community

And beyond the results, we're praying for the people.

Because a score doesn't define a person.

A contest result doesn't determine someone's worth.

We want to pray that the skaters competing in Paris know they are valued for more than what they can land on a skateboard.

🌎 World Skate Games — Asunción, Paraguay

From October 2–18, the World Skate Games will bring skateboarders and other action-sports athletes from around the world together in Asunción, Paraguay.

For many athletes, an event like this represents years of work, sacrifice, travel, training, and preparation.

It also brings together people from many different countries, cultures, languages, and backgrounds.

That's a lot of people to pray for.

Let's pray for:

  • Every skater traveling to Paraguay

  • Safe international travel

  • Protection from injury

  • Strength and confidence during competition

  • Skaters dealing with pressure and expectations

  • Coaches, families, and support teams

  • Event organizers, volunteers, and staff

  • The skateboarding community in Paraguay

  • The young people who will be watching and discovering skateboarding

  • New friendships and connections between skaters from different countries

  • Opportunities for Christians within the skate community to encourage and serve others

  • God's presence to be felt in the lives of the people who are there

There are also many skaters working toward bigger goals through events like these, including the journey toward the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

So we're not just praying about what happens on the contest floor.

We're praying about what happens in the lives of the people standing on it.

Pray With Skaters

The Prayer Watch will also connect with our Pray With Skaters prayer calls.

Each month, we'll take some of these stories and bring them into prayer together.

You don't need to be a professional skateboarder to join us.

You don't need to have the perfect words.

You don't even need to know everyone we're praying for.

You can simply show up and pray.

Because somewhere right now, there is a skater traveling to their next contest.

There is a kid learning to skate.

There is someone recovering from an injury.

There is a community trying to build a skatepark.

There is a young person who doesn't have a board or even a proper pair of skate shoes.

There is someone searching for purpose.

And we believe those things are worth bringing before God.

🙏 Join the Prayer Watch

Every month, we'll share what's happening around the skateboarding world and give you specific things you can pray about.

If you know about something happening in the skate community that should be on our Prayer Watch, a contest, skatepark, youth program, skater, community, or something else, send it our way.

Let's keep our eyes on the skate world.

Let's keep our hearts connected to skaters.

And most importantly, let's keep praying.

October 2026

SLS Paris — October 3
World Skate Games — Asunción, Paraguay — October 2–18

Let's pray for the skaters. Let's pray for the communities. Let's pray for what God is doing in skateboarding around the world.
