Introducing skate gospel

Skateboarding has always been about more than just getting on a board.

It’s about people. It’s about community, creativity, travel, competition, friendship, and the places where skaters come together. A skatepark can bring people from completely different backgrounds into the same space.

Skate Gospel exists to connect those people, not only with each other, but with the gospel of Jesus.

We are building a skate community where skaters can find encouragement, prayer, spiritual support, and genuine relationships with other people who understand the world of skateboarding.

Three People, One Vision

Skate Gospel is being built through the collective vision and experience of Dave, Dillon, and Vanessa.

Each of us brings a different connection to skateboarding and community, but we share a desire to see skaters supported both on and off the board.

Dave brings experience in skateboarding, community building, advocacy, fundraising, and working to create spaces where skaters can come together. His experience includes working with city leaders, helping build skate communities, navigating regulations and permits, and helping bring skatepark projects to life.

Dillon, based in South Africa, brings his connection to the global skate community and helps Skate Gospel share stories and content through social media. His perspective helps us remember that skateboarding doesn't stop at one city, one country, or one scene. There are skaters around the world who are facing very different circumstances but who share the same love for skateboarding.

Vanessa serves as the prayer lead for Skate Gospel and helps shape the ministry, its resources, and its spiritual direction. The goal isn't to create something that simply talks about faith from the outside of skateboarding. We want to meet skaters where they are, speak their language, listen to their stories, and make space for honest conversations about Jesus, faith, life, purpose, and everything that comes with being a skater.

Together, we're building Skate Gospel as a place where skateboarding and faith can meet naturally.

Connecting Skaters With Skaters

One of the things we believe strongly is that skaters need other skaters.

A professional skater traveling to a new country shouldn't have to feel completely alone. A young skater trying to find community should have people they can connect with. A skater going through a difficult season should know there are people who will listen.

Skate Gospel wants to help create those connections.

That can look like connecting skaters to other skaters, helping people find local communities, sharing stories, supporting skate projects, creating resources, or simply being someone who is willing to listen.

We want the skate community to become an even stronger network of people looking out for one another.

Connecting Skaters With the Gospel

At the heart of Skate Gospel is Jesus.

We believe the gospel is good news for every person, including skaters.

But we also know that faith conversations don't always happen naturally in a skatepark. That's why Skate Gospel is intentionally creating spaces where those conversations can happen without pressure.

Through articles, testimonies, resources, conversations, prayer, and relationships, we want to make the gospel accessible to skaters who may have never picked up a Bible or who may have questions about Christianity.

We want to talk about Jesus in a way that makes sense within the world of skateboarding, without pretending that skateboarding and faith are the same thing, but recognizing that the skate community is made up of real people with real questions, struggles, hopes, and dreams.

Pray With Skaters

Prayer is going to be a major part of what we do.

One of the ways we're doing this is through Pray With Skaters, our global prayer calls.

These calls are a chance for skaters, friends, ministry leaders, and supporters to come together and pray for what's happening throughout the skateboarding world.

We can pray for competitions and events. We can pray for new skateparks being built. We can pray for local skate communities. We can pray for young skaters who don't have access to proper boards or shoes. We can pray for professional skaters traveling around the world.

And we can pray for the people behind all of it.

Because every skatepark has people.

Every competition has people.

Every skate brand has people.

Every skate community has people.

And every person matters to God.

Pray With Skaters is about bringing those people before God together.

This Is Just the Beginning

Skate Gospel is still being built.

We're dreaming about a growing network of skaters around the world, resources created specifically for the skate community, opportunities to support local skate ministries and youth programs, conversations with professional skaters, prayer gatherings, and partnerships with churches, organizations, foundations, businesses, and communities.

But underneath all of those ideas is something simple:

We want skaters to know they are not alone.

We want skaters to have people they can connect with.

We want skaters to have a place to ask questions about faith.

We want skaters to have people praying for them.

And ultimately, we want skaters to have the opportunity to know Jesus.

Whether you're a professional skater, a kid learning your first ollie, someone who has been skating for twenty years, a parent, a coach, a skatepark builder, or someone who simply loves the skate community

there's a place for you here.

Welcome to Skate Gospel.

Connect. Pray. Skate. Share the Gospel.
